Remnant Testimony - Josiah Dalton

Heb 3:14 "For we share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end."

"I will not forget the first time I went to Remnant where I experienced the love of God though Remnant. I experienced the receiving end of the kind of love that scripture talks about, knowing one is Christ's disciple by love one to another. As soon as I meet each one, it was as if they were my family. The reason? Remnant is a family. The hearts of everyone were so full of gratefulness and love to God that whenever there was an opportunity it was expressed, even in the prayer for the meal.

Basking in God's holy presence at Remnant ignited a flame of passion, joy and love for him and others. My life was radically changed. I could not help but forgive several people that I had been bitter against because they had hurt dear friends of mine. God expressed his love to be sooo much that it was hard to keep from sharing with others and seek God fervently in prayer. I am naturally shy, but God imparted a boldness to share with others that I had never had prior to meeting with Remnant.

It did not take me long to find out that the reason for God's presence was not just a random anointing of God; it was because of a lifestyle of prayer and fasting and a hunger for God that pursues knowing Him and sacrifices food or other pleasures to please the Father. Remnant is a corporate expression of what God is doing in individual lives. When you have a group of people who are all passionately pursuing God in every day life and then come to meet with God together in unity, the result is an amazing outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
During Remnant meetings there is an amazing sensitivity to the Lords leading and a tangible sense of his presence. There are times when all of the jembes are playing loudly and there is an exuberant joy filling the room and times a complete stillness before the Lord. Guitars rotate around the room or someone plays the piano, violin or some other instrument as God leads ones to specific songs or gives someone a new song. There are times to soak in the presence and love of the Father, fall on ones face before him in repentance and brokenness and times to shout for joy for Christ victory.

It is amazing how much the Father ministers to his people through his beloved at Remnant. Sometimes the ministry is sharing a scripture with someone, speaking or singing a prophetic word to them, praying for someone, encouraging them in a specific area or simply giving them a hug. Often God gives specific words and or prayers for someone that speaks to them in the season they are in or are entering. It would take books (literally) to tell of all the ministry that has resulted in freedom.

A unique example of his was of a prayer time for a friend of mine who was working for his Dad and was not able to attend Remnant that week, but God laid on someone's heart that we needed to pray for him. God also spoke to one of the leaders that we needed to lay hands "on" him, so another brother "took his place" and we all laid hands on him and prayed for the brother that was working with his Dad. It was one of the most intense times of prayer I have ever had. It was as if the brother was actually there and God really worked in mighty ways in answer to prayer.

Remnant has a strong call to impact the Fort Worth/Dallas area through prayer, intercession and ministry. I believe that there are many abortions that have not taken place and many broken relationships that have been healed as God has answers the cry of his people in Remnant. There is also a prayer covering over each individual in Remnant throughout the week as others pray for specific prayer requests or as the Lord prompts.

One amazing testimony to God's amazing power through Remnant was one night after a meeting the Holy Spirit prompted a sister that we needed to go to Wal-Mart to minister. God spoke we should minister to a Christian lady in Wal-Mart in the food section in a red shirt with a young child and a man outside that was very bitter and even had suicidal thoughts and that he would be saved. Sure enough, God set the woman free from many burdens she was carrying and radically saved the other man and his brother.

It continually blesses me that Remnant is about doing the will of the father, being his people enveloped by his power and love that cry out to him, and listen to his voice."
